You Heart Me!

I visited the Heartomatic this morning to check out my shop stats, I simply LOVE the Heartomatic, as I am sure most Etsy sellers do, and wow, today I was totally blown away by how many hearts I have - both shop hearts and single item hearts.

My shop has 361 hearts and 57 item hearts on 35 items. Wow! How cool is that?

And just because I hate doing a blog post without putting in any pictures, below are my two most hearted items - obviously, Etsy users love vintage cowboys!

Thanks for the love!

Extra Large Facial Pads!

A new item is available now in my Etsy shop - extra large facial pads/make-up removers. These guys are about an inch bigger than my regular pads and just as soft. This set is made with cheery yellow and white yarn.

As an added bonus, they are even big enough to use as dish cloths. So, with this set of three, you can keep one in the kitchen, one in the bathroom and have a spare to use until laundry day!

What? You said yellow isn't really your color? Have no fear! I'll make you a custom set! Simply send me a convo and let me know your color preferences and I'll make you a set that will compliment your home.

Happy Shopping!

Sell my jewelry? Really?

The EtsyBloggers Blog Carnival asks an interesting question this time around - What made you open a shop on Etsy? What do you like about being a seller on Etsy? What don't you like? I suppose its technically three questions, but anyway...

I've been making things forever, as I am sure most of you already know, so I won't bore you with the details. My good friend Ali from Ali's Adorables found Etsy.com one day while surfing and showed me the site. I'd made her a few necklaces and bracelets as gifts and she decided that she was going to open up a shop and encouraged me to do the same. I set up an account, but it was some time before I decided to actually add anything to my shop. I had made tons of necklaces, bracelets and earrings and most were just sitting in a box waiting for me to do something with them, so I finally decided to take pictures and list them for sale.

I love Etsy because it was so easy to set up a shop! I didn't have to create my own webpage or worry about how to collect payment - Etsy did all of that for me. I also met a lot of really cool people through Etsy street teams and the forums are a great resource.

As for what I don't like - right now its really hard for jewelry sellers to get noticed - there are so many great items out there and listings get buried almost instantly. And the tag abuse is rampant! Its horrendously difficult to browse for things to purchase. Don't even get me started on the search function!

So, there you have it, I opened my Etsy shop three years ago and its been one of the best things I ever did. I was getting tired of making things because it seemed like all of my creations just sat in a box, now people all over the world have a little bit of my heart in their jewelry box. Its really cool!

EtsyBlogger Featured Member - DonnaPool!

I'm a tad bit behind on this, and I apologize, but this month's featured EtsyBlogger is DonnaPool! DonnaPool has a wide variety of items in her shop ranging from photography to cards and ACEOs to pocket mirrors to plush toys.

My ultimate favorite item in her shop is this adorable blue flannel teddy bear! It is a perfect shower gift for any expecting mother. The bear is great for little hands and there are no potential choking parts on this sweet little bear. And to make it even more desirable - its machine washable!!

Please pop on over to DonnaPool's shop and blog!

OWOH Winners!!

Hooray! Today is the day that I get to post the winners for my OWOH contest. First of all, I'd like to thank everyone who entered, you all had such nice comments. I had 158 comments - that is more than I've ever had on any of my other posts combined! It was awesome for me to read them all.

OK, so, now for the winners. I used Random.org to generate two random integers and then I printed out the comments (4-up, double sided - that means I basically printed the equivelant of 8 pages on 2 sheets of paper - to be as green as possible) and numbered them.

And without further delay, the winners are..... Wendy and Mommy Bee! Congrats ladies! I've asked them both to contact me by Monday 2/16.

This was such a great event and I wish I could give something to everyone who entered and who participated, so here's what I will do - I will offer FREE SHIPPING on any item in my Etsy shop to anyone who either commented on my original OWOH post or who partcipated in the event. All you have to do is put "OWOH FREE SHIP" in the notes to seller and include either your OWOH blog number or your Blogger ID you used to enter my giveaway and I will refund your shipping fees via PayPal.

Now I will be anxiously watching my email to see if I was lucky enough to win anything!

Happy Day!

Valentine's Day Happenings

Valentine's Day has never really been a big deal for me. My mom always gave us a little box of chocolate and conversation hearts and a cute card. My hubby and I exchanged small gifts for a while, but lately we haven't done much. This year however, I think we will plan a "grown-up" fondue dinner which will occur after my son has fallen asleep (hopefully we can wait that long to eat!).

My son is 20 months old now and thinks that coloring is the greatest thing in the whole wide world (next to milk and Disney's Cars movie). So, I plan on cutting out little contruction paper hearts and helping him made Valentine's Day cards for my parents, my sister and my grandmothers. I think they will get a big kick out of his artwork and he will have a ball coloring all weekend long.

Here's an example of his fabulous artwork:

Look out Picasso!

If paper hearts aren't your thing, take a look at these heart earrings that are available in my Etsy shop:

I have them available in several colors, click here to see what I have in stock.

Don't forget, there is still time to enter my One World One Heart Giveway! I'll be drawing a winner on Feb 11.

Happy Valentine's Day!
